 Who is Ken Wood and why should you care?

Ken Wood (aka Woodie) is the leader of Woodies CCI Club. He has been assisting traders for years now by teaching his methodology on the internet. He is a no nonsense kind of guy with a heart as big as gold. More importantly, he is a 29 year trader who gives solid advice on mini futures trading, stocks and options trading, and has acted as a mentor to many successful traders.

His motto, along with the hundreds in his chat room each day, is "Traders helping Traders" and through the use of the CCI momentum indicator he has turned around many traders from losing traders to consistently profitable traders. I stumbled, by accident, upon his site after wasting thousands of dollars on futures trading seminars and courses, and here was what I was looking for on the internet all along at absolutely NO CHARGE! I am writing this report in the hopes I can steer at least one trader in the proper direction so you do not make the same expensive mistakes I made. Woodies custom charting package is unparalleled and the use of the CCI as a momentum indicator results in highly profitable trades.

The chat room is very positive in nature. There is no boasting, just posting - the rooms official slogan. It is a text based chat room with the moderator having voice capability and live charts are displayed continuosly. The moderators are top notch, very professional and serve as great educators in learning Woodies CCI system. Woodie himself moderates frequently and you don't want to miss more than 29 years of trading experience and wisdom guiding you.

Of course you need to understand that the moderators can not legally call specific trades as far as exact entries and exits go, but the method is so visual and so clean, that learning to recognize financial futures trading patterns is a breeze. The key is then to apply good money management principles and limiting your losses if the trade moves against you. This is no different than any other trading you will ever do.

What is different are the resources you have access to on Woodies CCI web site and the continuing education that takes place day after day and week after week during live, in the market, commentary and training. It is top notch and did I mention it is FREE.

Woodie could easily charge thousands of dollars for his methodology, but his motive is not money. He trades his own account and is a highly successful trader. His only motive is to help traders become successful and support donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation  through voluntary contributions. In fact, a portion of the proceeds from this report are going to help put a smile on a kids face that is much less fortunate than a normal, healthy child. So I thank you for that! Startup Section For New Traders To Woodies CCI

The Startup section is a good place to start. You can download a PDF file called Woodies CCI Patterns and Terminology by Jim O'Connell from PFG. It is the first link in the startup section. This guide will serve as a basic text book to get you familiar with Woodies use of the CCI. It is an easy read and should be studied before going to the main futures room.

The 7th link down in the startup section is the Lecture Theatre CCI. If you click it on it will take you to many streaming video presentations of the CCI in action. Watch, listen, and learn from a variety of training presentations, all free.

 The true education begins when you visit any of the chat rooms, especially the main futures trading room. If you have a question, do not be afraid to ask. This truly is "traders helping traders" in action. Woodie also travels extensively to conduct Trade-A-Longs in different cities and countries at different times of the year. These are very inexpensive 2 day seminars and chance for traders to learn from Moderators and from Woodie himself. All the money collected is used to pay expenses for  the hotel staging area, usually a lunch, and any monies left over are donated to Make-A-Wish. Woodie does not profit one cent from these seminars. Woodies travel and expenses are compensated for. He deserves that at the very least for giving his time and effort to help traders. For a few hundred dollars, you get a heck of a seminar.

What is TalksLive?

TalksLive is a service that WoodiesCCI Club owns that provides live conference rooms on the internet for groups of up to 500 people. The proceeds help support the running of WoodiesCCI Club. Better yet, the service allows WoodiesCCI Club chat rooms to be absolutely FREE to its members. In the past, you had to pay for a chat room service to join the club, but now Woodie and staff have found a way to provide this service for FREE and also to produce revenue for the club.

On the main page, scroll down to "FREE Basic Trading Chat Room with Live Charts", Click it and then select Run to start the software application. It will ask you for a log in name and then hit OK. The chat room software will then open. You can then select Trading Charts to see the moderators charts during live trading hours. Of course, at some point you will want your own charts to actually trade with. Every day you will see anywhere from 300 to 500 traders joining the club to learn new trading skills. Some people stay with the club after learning Woodies system and others trade on their own, no longer needing the club for guidance. This is entirely a personal preference.

In Woodies CCI Club there are multiple rooms that can be used depending what you are looking for. If you are a new trader, there is the Basic Trading Chat Room....if you are interested in stocks and options, there is a option/stock room. The Basic Trading Chat Room is the Main Room, which is hosted and moderated by volunteer members of the club who are well skilled in the use of the CCI, including Woodie himself. The main room is a mini futures trading room for financial futures like the mini Dow (YM), Russell 2000 (ER2), the Euro (6E), and others. There is also an Advanced Trading Chat Room for traders who are very familiar with the use of the CCI as Woodie teaches, but who do not wish to be subjected to "newbie" questions and also have the flexibility to entertain other styles of trading or other nuances of using Woodies CCI. It is not the place for a new trader or a trader who is not well versed in using the CCI to trade. Stick with the Basic room till you are consistantly profitable using Woodies CCI.

Woodies CCI Custom Chart

There will be a cost for your trading platform. Many trading platforms have Woodies custom CCI Template built into it so that the CCI indicators can be accessed. ESignal, Tradestation, TradeNavigator, Sierra Charts, and Medved QuoteTracker are a few. The most popular are ESignal and TradeNavigator especially for those who trade stocks as well. TradeNavigator through PFG Direct is very popular and has one of the lowest costs for a chart provider and trading platform all in one at $49/month but only trades financial futures, no stocks. To include stocks would run $99/month. Trading Simulators are included in both packages. Links are provided at WoodiesCCI Club to research all the charting platforms.

There is also a Bulletin Board you will want to join for the community of WoodiesCCI traders and platforms are discussed in detail on the bulletin board. You can access the bulletin board via the Menu on the left side of the main page, or if you scroll down to the chat rooms you will also find a link to get you there as well.

If you want to day trade, but have an account less than $25,000, then trading financial futures is a very good option. There are no limitations in day trading as there are with stocks by the SEC for smaller accounts that are less than $25,000. The SEC rule only allows 3 day trades in a 5 day period for stocks, but this limit does not apply to financial futures. So multiple in and out positions during the day are fine with an account size less than $25,000 when trading index futures or currencies like the Euro.

In my opinion, financial futures are the trading vehicle of choice. They are highly liquid and very easy to enter and exit trades, especially with smaller contracts, and for the newer trader who has a smaller account size.. There is good volatility and using a momentum indicator like the CCI, especially Woodies use of it, makes for many trading opportunities with many types of patterns. When you start out with Woodies CCI, you will here him preach to.....

 start out with one pattern, one time frame, and one market.

It is best to heed this advice. Though you can learn this method very easily because it is so visual, there are many subtleties to be learned and like anything else worth learning in life,you have to crawl before you can run!

Fully explore the web site and make sure you watch many of the streaming video presentations especially in the Lecture CCI Theatre. Lectures by Woodie, Mark Douglas of "Trading In The Zone" fame, and many others provide a solid educational resource. 3. Decide which platform is for you. Everybody has their own preference. Woodie uses ESignal, some use Tradestation, and many use  TradeNavigator. My vote is for TradeNavigator because they are constantly improving the platform, adding items, and the price can not be beat. You can check them out here at TradeNavigator. Don't worry, you will hear plenty of discussion on platforms and the use of Woodies system. If you don't have a charting package yet, still join the room since real time charts are always displayed. Then when you are ready, you can decide on a charting package/trading platform. 4. Read this entire report which includes the Basic CCI Textbook from PFG to start becoming familiar with using the CCI to trade and the the various CCI Patterns you will be working with. This should be your bible and reference manual as you start out. Start Learning Now or proceed when you get to the bottom of the page. 5. Finally, log into the Basic Mini Futures Trading Chat Room. Check the calendar of events at Woodies site to see who is moderating and when. Initially, watch and learn for 30 days and you will be well on your way to using the CCI effectively and profitably......you can ask questions in the main room but it is best to watch and listen for the first couple of weeks. Do some homework before coming to the main room and you will understand the basics of what a ghost is, a zero line reject, a Famir, a mittens ghost, and other visual patterns. Start simulated trading on a platform like TradeNavigator and when you are comfortable - take it live. Many of the expert moderators can and will do a much better job than me in providing the finer points of using Woodies CCI to master online trading and profit using good money management skills.
